Minneapolis Digital Commerce Professionals, You’re Invited

We’ve all been invited to a networking happy hour at some point in our careers. Lately, you will find they are all held at some hip Minneapolis brewery where you might meet a few like-minded folks, but conversations don’t run very deep.

Why do these events fail us more often than not?

It has been my personal experience that these types of networking events don’t pass much value off to those attending and it is more for the promotional push of the brands sponsoring them. Even worse, you may have to walk by tables of sales people waiting to pitch you, when all you really wanted to accomplish attending this event and spending your valuable time was a few things:

That is why Magento Commerce set out to create a new type of event and their first stop is Minneapolis’ The Brave New Workshop, in partnership with Echidna, Avalara, and Dotmailer. This fun afternoon workshop is all about breaking down the "yes, and" improvisation technique that can give you the freedom to:

You’ll also have the chance to network with fellow commerce professionals, absorb compelling insights from featured commerce speakers who have said “Yes, and” to digital transformation.

Local Minneapolis digital commerce professional Theresa Kuske will be the keynote speaker for the event. She has over 10 years experience in digital marketing and is currently the Senior Digital Marketing Manager at Ergodyne, Division of Tenacious Holdings, Inc. and oversees the development and growth of the ecommerce website and online digital marketing from SEM, SEO, UX, CRO and email as well as administrates and develops the CRM system. Additionally, she is on the board of MnSearch, which is a local professional organization dedicated to digital marketing.

In addition, omni-channel thought leader, Mike Pierce, will join the panel to discuss experiences and thoughts on where digital commerce is headed. Mike has been designing, deploying, and advising omni-channel solutions since the late ‘90’s. He lead teams in the design and construction of Walmart’s early ecommerce, home delivery of orders in the UK for ASDA.com, and the earliest implementations of Samsclub.com's direct ship and in-store pickup business (Click-n-Pull). He has also carried the responsibility of CIO at Teleflora in which he successful led a large in-house IT team in supporting double-digit ecommerce growth and routing orders across Teleflora's 23,000 member florist network and was CIO at Petra, supporting eCommerce and distribution to a 12,000+ retailer network. Then venturing into the service sector as a consulting CTO to dozens of companies striving to transform and compete in today's digital economy, to today where he finds himself as CTO of Echidna. From national retailers like Kohl's to large regional retailers like Orscheln, and Farm and Home Supply, he has had the opportunity to help leaders attain the digital maturity to continuously innovate and leapfrog their competition.

Last, but certainly not least, Rachel Truair will be moderating the event and sharing her insight and experiences in digital commerce and marketing. Rachel has led inbound and outbound marketing programs at Oracle, 3M and high-growth consumer startups. A marketer who relies on data to make decisions and inform strategy, Rachel won an Oracle Marketing Cloud “Markie” in 2013 for her data-driven global content marketing program. Rachel has spoken at thought leadership events including South By Southwest Interactive, Convince & Convert’s Content Pros podcast, and Oracle’s Modern Marketing Experience. She is now leading America’s field marketing at Magento Commerce, the leading provider of open omnichannel innovation to retailers, brands and branded manufacturers across retail B2C and B2B industries.
